Our Child Development and Child Care classes at SHS have ended another great school year, and the tradition of the Little Bulldogs Playschool. We had a great school year! The program will continue again this fall. Enrollment for the program is now being taken for the next school year. SHS students in Child Development and Child Care classes assist with school operations. Openings are available for ages 3, 4, and 5. Attendees must be toilet-trained. Little Bulldogs sessions incorporate educational activities for social development, including: science, math, language, large motor, music, art, and independent play. Classes are on Tues. & Thurs. Mornings from 8:05-11:35. Fall sessions begin in September and follow the high school calendar. For additional information, please contact Mrs. Maynard, emaynard@streatorhs.org.

Seniors' Decision Day is May 1st. Be sure to wear your college shirt or something to represent what you are doing after High School. There will be a table set up at lunch with a banner for Seniors to sign and cupcakes for Seniors who stop by.

Juniors and Seniors:
If you are planning to go to prom this year, this post is for you!
Invitations: There was a problem printing our invitations, so they are arriving later than usual. However, YOU ARE INVITED to this year's prom on May 2nd, 2026. You will get an invitation as soon as possible, since many students keep these as keepsakes.
Tickets: Tickets were also part of this order, so we are still waiting for them as well. HOWEVER, tickets are on sale NOW (Thursday, April 23rd). You will not get a physical ticket, but Mr. Watson will record the names of those of you who buy a virtual ticket so that eventually you will get a physical ticket. Tickets are $20 each and will be sold until the end of the day on Wednesday, April 30th.
Important Times: Prom is on Saturday, May 2nd, from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM. The Grand March will take place at approximately 7:30 PM that night. After the Grand March, we will crown this year's Prom Royalty. After Prom, Post Prom will start at 10:00 PM in the Gym, where Mrs. Park will have lots of fun activities, prizes, and food for you to enjoy.
Miscellaneous: This Year's Prom Theme is The Secret Garden. Each student will get a Prom T-shirt with this theme. There will be drinks and snacks provided as well.

Notice of Upcoming Timely & Meaningful Meeting
On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM, a meeting will be conducted by Streator Township High School Dist #40 and will take place at 202 W Lincoln Ave. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are a parent of a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of District #40, you are urged to attend.

Would you like to attend the prom but the cost of a dress may keep you from going? Ms Phelan has a collection of all different sized dresses to give away for free. If you would like to set up a time before or after school to try them on, please send her an email or stop by room 202 by the east gym.
